Permit & Joan

I checked online to see where my residence permit is at. It had the same news from 3 weeks ago. Being the impatient person that I am, I called the department that handles it 3 times and it was busy. Leaving it on re-dial, 2 more times it was busy but the 3rd time it rang and rang and then just shut off. 2 more busy signals and 2 rings later I was told I was caller #4 in the queue and to not hang up. 10 minutes later a woman answered and I told her my story. She checked my file and said I had to make an appointment to have my fingerprints taken. She gave me a new number to call to do it. 2 busy signals and I finally connected. They gave me the earliest date open, September 2nd, 10:45. I started the application in the first week of April.

It always happens so suddenly! Joan was getting out of the wheelchair to move to her recliner and fell sideways.  I was close her to but just glanced down for a moment at the recliner.
