Surprise!

Shopping day, 108 zl for this weeks food. Because we didn't go to Kandulski's like normal on Wednesday, we went today. We wouldn't want to let the ladies be disappointed because we didn't come in this week. They had signs up for the two upcoming special days, Dzień Matki(Mothers Day)May 26th and Dzień Dziedzka(Children's Day)May 30-31). Speaking of children, on the way to Kandulski's at the corner of sw. Marcin and Niepodligłośći, at the stoplight was a long line of little children going with their teachers to the zamek to visit it. Little kids are always so cute in their little green flourescent vests so you don't miss seeing them as they walk along the street holding each others hands.

An interesting report was released today about the international study of education systems. It ranked Asian 15 year old kids as the best performers. Countries that were at the top started with Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan,Taiwan. Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada and Poland. All of these countries have a higher rating than Great Britain and the United States.  Poland’s high ranking in the OECD study does not come as a surprise. In recent years, Poland has in impressive style climbed to the top of the PISA classification, which evaluates the knowledge of 15 year-olds within the fields of mathematics and science.
The latest OECD ranking is also to a large extent based on the PISA results, within which Polish students claimed joint first place in the European Union, alongside the Netherlands, Estonia and Finland. The top spots overall were taken by Asian countries.
The very impressive performance by Polish students within education rankings in recent years has in large part been a result of comprehensive changes within Poland’s education system – changes that have allowed it to break free from its Communist mould.

Nie chcemy pozwolić panie być rozczarowany, bo nie są w tym tygodniu. Mieli objawy się na dwóch kolejnych dni specjalne, Dzień Matki (Dzień Matki) 26 maja i Dzień Dziedzka (Dzień Dziecka) 30-31 maja). Mówiąc o dzieci, w drodze do Kandulski na na rogu ulic Św. Marcin i Niepodligłośći, na światłach była długa kolejka małych dzieci chodzących z opiekunami do Zamku jej odwiedzenia. Małe dzieci zawsze są tak słodkie w swoich małych zielonych kamizelkach fluorescencyjną, więc nie przegap widząc ich jak idą ulicą trzymając każde inne ręce.
Raport ukazał się ciekawy dziś o międzynarodowym badaniu systemów edukacyjnych. To miejsce w Azji 15-letni dzieci jak najlepszych wykonawców. Kraje, które były na szczycie rozpoczęła Singapurze, Hong Kongu, Korei Południowej, Japonii, na Tajwanie. Finlandia, Estonia, Szwajcaria, Holandia, Kanada i Polska. Wszystkie te kraje mają wyższą ocenę niż Wielkiej Brytanii i Stanach Zjednoczonych. Wysoka pozycja Polski w badaniu OECD nie jest zaskoczeniem. W ostatnich latach Polska ma w imponującym stylu wspiął się na szczyt klasyfikacji PISA, które ocenia wiedzę od 15-latków w ciągu dziedzinie matematyki i nauk przyrodniczych.
Najnowszy ranking OECD jest również w dużej mierze w oparciu o wyniki PISA, w ramach którego polscy studenci twierdzili wspólne pierwsze miejsce w Unii Europejskiej, obok Holandii, Estonii i Finlandii. Najlepsze miejsca zajęli całkowita krajów azjatyckich.
Bardzo imponujący występ polskich studentów w rankingach edukacyjnych w ostatnich latach w dużej mierze był efektem kompleksowych zmian w systemie edukacji w Polsce - zmiany, które pozwoliły mu uwolnić się od jego komunistycznej formy
