Miracle.

Life is short for all the people who die early but for me, it's been a long life. I hope it lasts even longer! When you consider all the changes during the previous 76 years, it's miraculous. We have gone from 78s that were made of a brittle material which uses a shellac resin to vinyl records, then replaced by 8-track tapes. Those became obsolete when the compact tapes  were made and those by CD's, then DVD's. Now music is available on the internet. 

I bring up the subject because we have over 100 compact tapes of music that we haven't listened to in years. So, today I started playing them,1 per day,and will continue under we listen to them all. Half of them contain music of different artists that I recorded and the other half are actual albums of different artists like Segovia, Yes, Phil Collins, Queen, James Taylor, Willie Nelson, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Eric Satie, Lyle Lovett, Krzysztof Penderecki,  Jim Croce, Pavarotti, The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, Arvo Part, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, Barney Kessel, Joe Pass, and, of course, Chopin. We listen  to all types of music. I never liked classical music until I attended the music school of DePaul University. It was classically oriented and you had to listen to most of the great composers of that time. I am grateful for that.

Ok, so I received the number to take to the Apteka for the 3 prescriptions I asked the doctor for. However, at the Apteka, the lady told me the number was only for Joan's medicine, not for her diapers or my medications. Now I have to repeat the request again for those 2 items.

Today was shopping day. I usually go around 11:00 but wanted to go earlier today so I checked the website for Carrefour and found they open at 06:30. I woke up about 05:45, read my emails and blog comments and went to Carrefour at 07:00. I wasn't expecting to find many shoppers at that time and I didn't, only 2. It was wonderful so that is my new time for food shopping, 07:00 on Thursday. it's perfect because Joan is usually sleeping at that time and I don't have to tie her in her recliner like I have been doing.  I wasn't rushed like normal. I took my time, looked at other things I have wanted to check-out like new frying pans. Our large one needs replacing so I looked there first. WOW! There are so many kinds available. They range in price from 54 PLN($14) to 124 PLN($32) Our current one is rather shallow but I need one that has more depth for some because of the recipes I make.

Życie jest krótkie dla wszystkich ludzi, którzy umierają wcześnie, ale dla mnie to było długie życie. Mam nadzieję, że to trwa jeszcze dłużej! Biorąc pod uwagę wszystkie zmiany w ciągu ostatnich 76 lat, jest to cudowne. Przeszliśmy 78 lat, które zostały wykonane z kruchego materiału, który wykorzystuje żywicę szelakową. Zostały one zastąpione płytami winylowymi, a następnie 8-ścieżkowymi taśmami. Te stały się przestarzałe, kiedy powstały kompaktowe taśmy i płyty CD, a następnie DVD. Teraz muzyka jest dostępna w Internecie.

Poruszam ten temat, ponieważ mamy ponad 100 kompaktowych taśm muzycznych, których nie słuchaliśmy od lat. Więc dzisiaj zacząłem je grać, 1 dziennie, i będę kontynuować, dopóki ich nie posłuchamy. Słuchamy wszystkich rodzajów muzyki. Nigdy nie lubiłem muzyki klasycznej, dopóki nie uczęszczałem do szkoły muzycznej Uniwersytetu DePaul. To było klasycznie zorientowane i trzeba było słuchać większości wielkich kompozytorów tamtych czasów. Jestem za to wdzięczny.

Ok, więc otrzymałem numer do Apteka na 3 recepty, o które prosiłem lekarza. Jednak w Apteka pani powiedziała mi, że numer dotyczy wyłącznie lekarstwa Joan, a nie jej pieluszek i moich leków. Teraz muszę powtórzyć prośbę o te 2 elementy.


Dzisiaj był dzień zakupów. Zwykle chodzę około 11:00, ale dzisiaj chciałem iść wcześniej, więc sprawdziłem stronę Carrefour i okazało się, że są otwarte o 06:30. Obudziłem się około 05:45, przeczytałem e-maile i komentarze na blogu i poszedłem do Carrefour o 07:00. Nie spodziewałem się, że w tym czasie znajdę wielu kupujących i nie zrobiłem tego, tylko 2. La vida es corta para todas las personas que mueren temprano, pero para mí ha sido una vida larga. ¡Espero que dure aún más! Cuando considera todos los cambios durante los 76 años anteriores, es milagroso. Hemos pasado 78 años que estaban hechos de un material quebradizo que utiliza una resina de goma laca. Escuchamos todo tipo de música. Nunca me gustó la música clásica hasta que asistí a la escuela de música de la Universidad DePaul. Tenía una orientación clásica y había que escuchar a la mayoría de los grandes compositores de la época. Estoy agradecido por eso.

Ok, recibí el número para llevar a Apteka las 3 recetas que le pedí al médico. Sin embargo, en el Apteka, la señora me dijo que el número era solo para la medicina de Joan, no para sus pañales o mis medicamentos. Ahora tengo que repetir la solicitud nuevamente para esos 2 elementos.
