That was my thought today for breakfast. I wanted to make the oven pancake for Joan this morning. I broke the 3 eggs into the bowl, slowly whisked the 1/2 cup of flour into the eggs, and then discovered I didn' have the needed three tablespoons of melted butter. In fact, I forgot to buy butter. So, I thought I would use 3 spoons of olive oil not knowing what the outcome would be. It wasn't good. Instead of rising all around the edges of the pan to form a bowl-like appearance in 12-13 minutes, it just laid flat. I knew I was in trouble. It didn't get brown until the 25-minute mark when I took it out. I tried putting a fork in it and it was solid as a rock. I learned the hard way you can't substitute olive oil for butter. :-( In the end, we had muesli with blueberry yogurt for breakfast, :-)
Poland is considering lifting the ban on Sunday shopping to alleviate crowded stores during the week in this pandemic time. During the week, seniors ONLY can shop between 10:00-12:00 to make it safer for them. Them? It's funny I write them when we are part of them. :-) In the last 5 days, Poland has recorded its highest number of new Covid-19 cases at 8,099 and deaths in one day of 132 people. We are isolating as much as possible but tomorrow I do have to go to immigration to pick up my new residence permit. It's finally here.
In the afternoon, we finished watching the Borgias serial and Joan talked with her daughter.

Po po艂udniu sko艅czyli艣my ogl膮da膰 serial Borgiasa i Joan rozmawia艂a z c贸rk膮.
Ese fue mi pensamiento hoy para el desayuno. Quer铆a hacer el panqueque al horno para Joan esta ma帽ana. Romp铆 los 3 huevos en el taz贸n, bat铆 lentamente la 1/2 taza de harina en los huevos y luego descubr铆 que no ten铆a las tres cucharadas necesarias de mantequilla derretida. De hecho, olvid茅 comprar mantequilla. Entonces, pens茅 que usar铆a 3 cucharadas de aceite de oliva sin saber cu谩l ser铆a el resultado. No estuvo bien. En lugar de elevarse por todos los bordes de la sart茅n para formar una apariencia de cuenco en 12-13 minutos, simplemente se puso plano. Sab铆a que estaba en problemas. No se puso marr贸n hasta la marca de los 25 minutos cuando lo saqu茅. Intent茅 ponerle un tenedor y estaba s贸lido como una roca. Polonia est谩 considerando levantar la prohibici贸n de las compras dominicales para aliviar las tiendas abarrotadas durante la semana en esta 茅poca de pandemia. Durante la semana, las personas mayores SOLAMENTE pueden comprar entre las 10: 00-12: 00 para que sea m谩s seguro para ellos. ¿Ellos? Es gracioso que los escriba cuando somos parte de ellos. :-) En los 煤ltimos 5 d铆as, Polonia ha registrado su mayor n煤mero de nuevos casos de Covid-19 con 8.099 y muertes en un d铆a de 132 personas. Estamos aislando tanto como sea posible pero ma帽ana tengo que ir a inmigraci贸n para recoger mi nuevo permiso de residencia. Finalmente est谩 aqu铆.
