That was my thought today for breakfast. I wanted to make the oven pancake for Joan this morning. I broke the 3 eggs into the bowl, slowly whisked the 1/2 cup of flour into the eggs, and then discovered I didn' have the needed three tablespoons of melted butter. In fact, I forgot to buy butter. So, I thought I would use 3 spoons of olive oil not knowing what the outcome would be. It wasn't good. Instead of rising all around the edges of the pan to form a bowl-like appearance in 12-13 minutes, it just laid flat. I knew I was in trouble. It didn't get brown until the 25-minute mark when I took it out. I tried putting a fork in it and it was solid as a rock. I learned the hard way you can't substitute olive oil for butter. :-( In the end, we had muesli with blueberry yogurt for breakfast, :-)
Poland is considering lifting the ban on Sunday shopping to alleviate crowded stores during the week in this pandemic time. During the week, seniors ONLY can shop between 10:00-12:00 to make it safer for them. Them? It's funny I write them when we are part of them. :-) In the last 5 days, Poland has recorded its highest number of new Covid-19 cases at 8,099 and deaths in one day of 132 people. We are isolating as much as possible but tomorrow I do have to go to immigration to pick up my new residence permit. It's finally here.
In the afternoon, we finished watching the Borgias serial and Joan talked with her daughter.
Taka była moja dzisiejsza myśl na śniadanie. Chciałem zrobić dziś rano naleśnik z piekarnika dla Joan. Wbiłem 3 jajka do miski, powoli wymieszałem 1/2 szklanki mąki i odkryłem, że nie mam potrzebnych trzech łyżek stopionego masła. W rzeczywistości zapomniałem kupić masło. Pomyślałem więc, że użyję 3 łyżek oliwy z oliwek, nie wiedząc, jaki będzie wynik. To nie było dobre. Zamiast unosić się wokół krawędzi patelni, aby uzyskać wygląd miski w ciągu 12-13 minut, po prostu leżał płasko. Wiedziałem, że mam kłopoty. Zbrązowiał dopiero po 25 minutach, kiedy go wyjąłem. Próbowałem włożyć do niego widelec i był solidny jak skała. Na własnej skórze przekonałem się, że masło nie zastąpi oliwy z oliwek. :-( W końcu na śniadanie zjedliśmy musli z jogurtem jagodowym, :-)

W miarę możliwości izolujemy się, ale jutro muszę udać się na imigrację, aby odebrać nowe pozwolenie na pobyt. W końcu jest tutaj.
Po południu skończyliśmy oglądać serial Borgiasa i Joan rozmawiała z córką.
Ese fue mi pensamiento hoy para el desayuno. Quería hacer el panqueque al horno para Joan esta mañana. Rompí los 3 huevos en el tazón, batí lentamente la 1/2 taza de harina en los huevos y luego descubrí que no tenía las tres cucharadas necesarias de mantequilla derretida. De hecho, olvidé comprar mantequilla. Entonces, pensé que usaría 3 cucharadas de aceite de oliva sin saber cuál sería el resultado. No estuvo bien. En lugar de elevarse por todos los bordes de la sartén para formar una apariencia de cuenco en 12-13 minutos, simplemente se puso plano. Sabía que estaba en problemas. No se puso marrón hasta la marca de los 25 minutos cuando lo saqué. Intenté ponerle un tenedor y estaba sólido como una roca. Aprendí por las malas que no se puede sustituir la mantequilla por aceite de oliva. :-( Al final, desayunamos muesli con yogur de arándanos, :-)
Polonia está considerando levantar la prohibición de las compras dominicales para aliviar las tiendas abarrotadas durante la semana en esta época de pandemia. Durante la semana, las personas mayores SOLAMENTE pueden comprar entre las 10: 00-12: 00 para que sea más seguro para ellos. ¿Ellos? Es gracioso que los escriba cuando somos parte de ellos. :-) En los últimos 5 días, Polonia ha registrado su mayor número de nuevos casos de Covid-19 con 8.099 y muertes en un día de 132 personas. Estamos aislando tanto como sea posible pero mañana tengo que ir a inmigración para recoger mi nuevo permiso de residencia. Finalmente está aquí.
Por la tarde, terminamos de ver el serial de Borgias y Joan habló con su hija.
