Rant #18

 I have more and more confidence that these Saturday rants will not continue past January 20, 2021. Even once a month is too much. I really don't like writing them but in these times, it is difficult not to because of what is happening now. I'm not talking about just the U.S. but also Poland.

In Poland, Covid-19 is on a severe rise in cases. On September 22nd, 711 cases were reported but yesterday, October 10th, 4,739 cases were reported. Why? For the same reason as in many countries, people are resisting follow guidelines like wearing a mask and social distancing. Even worse,  people don't want their names given for contact tracing. 

In the U.S., those are not the only reasons. The horrible current administration is a primary reason. When the President of that country says, " Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life". That was a terrible thing to tell the American people. They should be afraid, 218,685 Americans have died from it, so far. That is a BIG reason why there must be a change in administration voted in on November 3rd. It's not the only reason but it is a significant one.

On the bright side, a cousin of mine living in Texas has been a staunch supporter of Trump from the beginning. Because of his mishandling of the virus, she is now voting for Biden. I wonder how many more of his supporters feel the same way? I congratulate her on finally realizing it would be a disaster for the country if Trump wins in November.

Mam coraz większą pewność, że te sobotnie tyrady nie będą kontynuowane po 20 stycznia 2021 r. Nawet raz w roku miesiąc to za dużo. Naprawdę nie lubię ich pisać, ale w dzisiejszych czasach trudno jest tego nie robić ze względu na to, co się teraz dzieje. Nie mówię tylko o USA, ale także o Polsce.

W Polsce liczba przypadków Covid-19 znacznie wzrasta. 22 września zgłoszono 711 przypadków, ale wczoraj, 10 października, zgłoszono 4739 przypadków. Czemu? Z tego samego powodu, co w wielu krajach, ludzie odmawiają przestrzegania wskazówek, takich jak noszenie maski i dystans społeczny. Co gorsza, ludzie nie chcą, aby ich nazwiska były podawane do śledzenia kontaktów.

W USA to nie jedyne powody. Głównym powodem jest straszna obecna administracja. Kiedy prezydent tego kraju mówi: „Nie bój się Covida. Nie pozwól, by zdominowało Twoje życie”. To było straszne powiedzieć Amerykanom. Powinni się bać, do tej pory zginęło z tego powodu 218685 Amerykanów. To jest DUŻY powód, dla którego 3 listopada musi nastąpić zmiana w administracji. Nie jest to jedyny, ale ważny powód.

Z drugiej strony, moja kuzynka mieszkająca w Teksasie od samego początku jest zagorzałym zwolennikiem Trumpa. Z powodu jego złego obchodzenia się z wirusem głosuje teraz na Bidena. Zastanawiam się, ilu jego zwolenników czuje to samo? Gratuluję jej wreszcie zrozumienia, że ​​zwycięstwo Trumpa w listopadzie będzie katastrofą dla kraju.

Estoy cada vez más seguro de que estas peroratas del sábado no continuarán después del 20 de enero de 2021. Incluso una vez al año al mes es demasiado. Realmente no me gusta escribirlos, pero es difícil no hacerlo en estos días debido a lo que está pasando ahora. No me refiero solo a Estados Unidos, sino también a Polonia.

Por la misma razón que en muchos países, la gente se niega a seguir instrucciones como el uso de una máscara y el distanciamiento social. Peor aún, la gente no quiere que se rastree sus nombres.

En Estados Unidos, estas no son las únicas razones. La principal razón es la terrible administración actual. Cuando el presidente de ese país dice: “No le tengas miedo a Covid. No dejes que domine tu vida. Fue terrible contárselo a los estadounidenses. Deberían estar asustados, hasta ahora 218,685 estadounidenses han muerto a causa de ello. Esta es una GRAN razón por la que debe haber un cambio de administración el 3 de noviembre. Esta no es la única pero importante razón.

Por otro lado, mi primo que vive en Texas ha sido un firme partidario de Trump desde el principio. Debido a su mal manejo del virus, ahora vota por Biden. Me pregunto cuántos de sus seguidores sienten lo mismo. Finalmente la felicito por entender que la victoria de Trump en noviembre será un desastre para el país.
