PSA

Time to get my PSA level checked so I went to MedPolonia for a blood test.  The cost is 37 PLN($6) and in 10 minutes I'm done. I can get the results online the next morning. I have it done twice a year just before I see the urologist.

On the way there I  was thinking this will be the first year that we will miss one of the most important days of the year in Poland, November 1st. It's the day when I return to Golina to put flowers and candles on the graves of relatives and a friend who has died a few years ago. Next to Christmas and Easter, it's my favorite day of the year and I look forward to it each year, but this year is different. Joan is in recovery from the stroke/seizure and Covid-19 is still on the prowl looking for new victims. So, this year we will remain in our flat. I hope it is not the same next year.

While listening to the 1975 Koln concert by Keith Jarrett, Joan is doing word search puzzles and I'm here writing. The day outside is gray and a little chilly. Still, it's not really cold yet.

Two of our neighbors have installed 22 solar panels on their south-facing roofs today. It's nice to see, as in the pictures I took.

I didn't watch the last debate. I don't need the stress caused by the orange head.  I don't need to hear any more of his "conspiracy" theories or his lies. I was pleasantly surprised to see Biden get a surprise endorsement from the actor, Sam Elliott. He pissed off a lot of Trumpers who liked him.

Czas sprawdzić poziom PSA, więc poszedłem do MedPolonii na badanie krwi. Koszt to 37 zł i za 10 minut jestem gotowy. Wyniki mogę pobrać online następnego ranka. Robię to dwa razy w roku, tuż przed wizytą u urologa.

Po drodze myślałem, że to pierwszy rok, w którym przegapimy jeden z najważniejszych dni roku w Polsce, 1 listopada. To dzień, w którym wracam do Goliny, aby złożyć kwiaty i znicze na grobach krewnych i zmarłej kilka lat temu przyjaciółki. Obok Bożego Narodzenia i Wielkanocy to mój ulubiony dzień w roku i nie mogę się tego doczekać każdego roku, ale ten rok jest inny. Joan jest w trakcie rekonwalescencji po udarze / napadzie, a Covid-19 wciąż poluje w poszukiwaniu nowych ofiar. Tak więc w tym roku zostaniemy w naszym mieszkaniu. Mam nadzieję, że w przyszłym roku będzie inaczej.

Słuchając koncertu Keitha Jarretta w Kolonii w 1975 roku, Joan rozwiązuje zagadki wyszukiwania słów, a ja tu piszę. Dzień na zewnątrz jest szary i trochę chłodny. Mimo to nie jest jeszcze naprawdę zimno.

Dwóch naszych sąsiadów zainstalowało dzisiaj 22 panele słoneczne na swoich południowych dachach. Miło to widzieć, jak na zdjęciach, które zrobiłem.

Nie oglądałem ostatniej debaty. Nie potrzebuję stresu spowodowanego przez pomarańczową głowę. Nie muszę już więcej słuchać jego teorii „spiskowych” ani jego kłamstw. Byłem mile zaskoczony, widząc, jak Biden otrzymał niespodziewane poparcie od aktora, Sama Elliotta. Wkurzył wielu Trumperów, którzy go lubili.

En el camino, pensaba que este sería el primer año que nos perderemos uno de los días más importantes del año en Polonia, el 1 de noviembre. Es el día en que vuelvo a Golina para poner flores y velas en las tumbas de familiares y un amigo que falleció hace unos años. Junto a Navidad y Pascua, es mi día favorito del año y lo espero con ansias cada año, pero este año es diferente. Joan se está recuperando del accidente cerebrovascular / convulsión y Covid-19 todavía está al acecho en busca de nuevas víctimas. Así que este año nos quedaremos en nuestro piso. Espero que no sea lo mismo el año que viene.

Mientras escucha el concierto de Koln de 1975 de Keith Jarrett, Joan está haciendo acertijos de búsqueda de palabras y yo estoy aquí escribiendo. El día afuera es gris y un poco frío. Aún así, todavía no hace mucho frío.

Dos de nuestros vecinos han instalado hoy 22 paneles solares en sus techos orientados al sur. Es agradable verlo, como en las fotos que tomé.

No vi el último debate. No necesito el estrés causado por la cabeza naranja. No necesito escuchar más de sus teorías de "conspiración" o sus mentiras. Me sorprendió gratamente ver a Biden obtener un respaldo sorpresa del actor, Sam Elliott. Cabreó a muchos Trumpers a quienes les gustaba.
