Fractals

Back in the year 2000, I was heavily involved with trying to further my creative abilities but this time in the area of Fractal Art.  Fractal art is a form of algorithmic art created by calculating fractal objects and representing the calculation results as still images, animations, and media.  Fractal art developed from the mid-1980s onwards. It is a genre of computer art and digital art that are part of new media art.

It takes a lot of study of the different algorithms available and software for the computer to manipulate those objects to create the image you want to show. I created several images that I thought were acceptable but the one I was proudest of is the side image of a face.  The image above was the result of my work.  However, another image I created was that of an Easter egg and it is the image I will use this year for my Easter cards instead of using cards made by Jacquie Lawson.

I would have kept working in this art form but once I started my genealogy research it consumed all of my time and I stopped working with fractals. I don't regret it much but, like playing music, it's something I should have kept doing if only as a hobby. Not continuing to play guitar I do regret, very much.

So, it's done. The United States has a new President and the "evil one" is out of the White House after four years of carnage. The majority of Americans, and probably the world, are happy to finally realize it.  Democracy has survived the lies, conspiracy theories, and domestic terrorists. To be sure, the country will still be divided for some time and Biden will not have an easy four years ahead of him. Whether he can bring the nation together again remains to be seen. I don't envy his job. He already has gray hair so that cannot be a telltale sign of his stress.

Again, Joan's test of her brain was not done today. The doctor did not write if it was to be an MRO or a CT scan. The technician said he had to know what to use. He said the MRI was dangerous for Joan because of the two clips she has in her brain and it might cause them to move and activate bleeding. He called the doctor but he wasn't sure either. At home, I looked through Joan's health records and see numerous mentions of CT scans. We have a new appointment for next Thursday and I will take her records with us.

Jeszcze w 2000 roku byłem mocno zaangażowany w próby rozwinięcia swoich zdolności twórczych, ale tym razem w obszarze Sztuki Fraktalnej.  Sztuka fraktalna jest formą sztuki algorytmicznej, która polega na obliczaniu obiektów fraktalnych i przedstawianiu wyników obliczeń jako nieruchomych obrazów, animacji i mediów.  Sztuka fraktalna rozwijała się od połowy lat 80. Jest to gatunek sztuki komputerowej i cyfrowej, które są częścią sztuki nowych mediów.

Potrzeba wiele badań nad różnymi dostępnymi algorytmami i oprogramowaniem dla komputera, aby manipulować tymi obiektami w celu stworzenia obrazu, który chcesz pokazać. Stworzyłem kilka obrazów, które uznałem za dopuszczalne, ale ten, z którego byłem najbardziej dumny, to wizerunek twarzy z boku.  Powyższy obrazek był wynikiem mojej pracy.  Jednak inny obrazek, który stworzyłam, to obrazek z jajkiem wielkanocnym i jest to obrazek, którego użyję w tym roku na moich kartach wielkanocnych, zamiast kart wykonanych przez Jacquie Lawson.

Nadal pracowałabym w tej formie sztuki, ale kiedy zaczęłam badania genealogiczne, pochłaniało to cały mój czas i przestałam pracować z fraktalami. Nie bardzo tego żałuję, ale tak jak w przypadku grania muzyki, jest to coś, co powinnam była robić, choćby tylko jako hobby. Nie kontynuując gry na gitarze, bardzo żałuję.

Więc, to jest zrobione. Stany Zjednoczone mają nowego prezydenta, a "zły" jest poza Białym Domem po czterech latach rzezi. Większość Amerykanów, i prawdopodobnie świat, jest szczęśliwa, że w końcu to sobie uświadomi.  Demokracja przetrwała kłamstwa, teorie spiskowe i wewnętrznych terrorystów. Aby mieć pewność, że kraj będzie jeszcze przez jakiś czas podzielony, a Biden nie będzie miał przed sobą łatwych czterech lat. Nie wiadomo, czy uda mu się ponownie zjednoczyć naród. Nie zazdroszczę mu pracy. Ma już siwe włosy, więc to nie może być oznaka jego stresu.

Znowu nie zrobiono dziś Joan testu jej mózgu. Lekarz nie napisał, czy to ma być badanie MRO czy tomografia komputerowa. Technik powiedział, że musi wiedzieć, czego użyć. Powiedział, że MRI jest niebezpieczne dla Joan z powodu dwóch klipsów, które ma w mózgu i może spowodować, że się poruszą i uruchomią dzwonek. Zadzwonił do lekarza, ale też nie był pewien. W domu przejrzałem akta zdrowia Joan i zobaczyłem wiele wzmianek o tomografii komputerowej. Mamy nowe spotkanie na przyszły czwartek i zabiorę jej akta ze sobą.

En el año 2000, estuve muy involucrado en tratar de mejorar mis habilidades creativas, pero esta vez en el área del Arte Fractal.  El arte fractal es una forma de arte algorítmico creado calculando objetos fractales y representando los resultados del cálculo como imágenes fijas, animaciones y medios.  El arte fractal se desarrolló a partir de mediados de los años 80. Es un género de arte computacional y arte digital que forma parte del arte de los nuevos medios.

Se necesita mucho estudio de los diferentes algoritmos disponibles y software para que la computadora manipule esos objetos para crear la imagen que quiere mostrar. Creé varias imágenes que me parecieron aceptables, pero de la que me sentí más orgulloso es la imagen lateral de un rostro.  La imagen de arriba fue el resultado de mi trabajo.  Sin embargo, otra imagen que creé fue la de un huevo de Pascua y es la imagen que usaré este año para mis tarjetas de Pascua en lugar de usar las tarjetas hechas por Jacquie Lawson.

Habría seguido trabajando en esta forma de arte pero una vez que empecé mi investigación genealógica consumió todo mi tiempo y dejé de trabajar con fractales. No me arrepiento mucho pero, como tocar música, es algo que debería haber seguido haciendo aunque sólo fuera como un hobby. No seguir tocando la guitarra sí me arrepiento, mucho.

Así que, está hecho. Los Estados Unidos tienen un nuevo presidente y el "malvado" está fuera de la Casa Blanca después de cuatro años de carnicería. La mayoría de los americanos, y probablemente el mundo, están felices de darse cuenta finalmente.  La democracia ha sobrevivido a las mentiras, a las teorías de conspiración y a los terroristas domésticos. Para estar seguros, el país seguirá dividido por algún tiempo y Biden no tendrá una fácil cuatro años por delante. Si él puede unir a la nación de nuevo está por verse. No envidio su trabajo. Ya tiene el pelo gris, así que no puede ser un signo revelador de su estrés.

De nuevo, la prueba de Joan de su cerebro no se hizo hoy. El doctor no escribió si iba a ser un MRI o una tomografía computarizada. El técnico dijo que tenía que saber qué usar. Dijo que la resonancia era peligrosa para Joan por los dos clips que tiene en su cerebro y que podría hacer que se muevan y activen la campana. Llamó al doctor pero tampoco estaba seguro. En casa, revisé los registros de salud de Joan y vi numerosas menciones de la tomografía computarizada. Tenemos una nueva cita para el próximo jueves y me llevaré sus registros con nosotros.
