The weather, same as it ever was. Nothing new.

Thinking back a year, at this time we were full of joy in the contemplation of our 2 months being spent in Spain. It was going to be able to spend time in the sun, meeting with old friends, sitting at the beach for coffee and tostadas for breakfast, practicing my speech in Spanish, and not worrying about anything. Little did I know that Covid-19 and a stroke was on the very horizon of our stay. The stroke was devastating and then Covid arrived, full-blown in Spain. They kind of put a damper on everything.

Now, here we are a year later and the effects of both of them continue to rule my life and Joan's. The only bright light I see is a new President in the United States. At least the "creature" will no longer represent the country but he will still be able to cause havoc in it. My hope is that the Constitution will be amended so anyone like him can NEVER be put into that office again.

Pogoda, taka sama jak zawsze. Nic nowego.

Myśląc o roku wstecz, w tym czasie byliśmy pełni radości z kontemplacji naszych 2 miesięcy spędzonych w Hiszpanii. Będzie można tym razem na słońcu, spotkać się ze starymi przyjaciółmi, posiedzieć na plaży przy kawie i tostadas na śniadanie, ćwiczyć przemówienie po hiszpańsku i nie martwić się o nic. Nie wiedziałem, że Covid-19 i udar są na samym horyzoncie naszego pobytu. Udar był druzgocący, a potem Covid przybył w pełni rozwinięty do Hiszpanii. W pewnym sensie wszystko tłumią.

Teraz jesteśmy rok później, a ich skutki nadal rządzą moim i Joanną. Jedyne jasne światło, które widzę, to nowy prezydent w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Przynajmniej „stwór” nie będzie już reprezentował kraju, ale nadal będzie w stanie siać w nim spustoszenie. Mam nadzieję, że konstytucja zostanie zmieniona, aby nikt taki jak on nie mógł NIGDY ponownie zostać umieszczony na tym stanowisku.

El clima, el mismo de siempre. Nada nuevo.

Pensando en un año atrás, en este momento estábamos llenos de alegría al contemplar los 2 meses que pasamos en España. Iba a poder ese tiempo al sol, reunirme con viejos amigos, sentarme en la playa a tomar café y tostadas para desayunar, practicar mi habla en español, y no preocuparme por nada. Poco sabía yo que Covid-19 y un derrame cerebral estaban en el horizonte de nuestra estadía. El accidente cerebrovascular fue devastador y luego llegó Covid, en toda regla en España. En cierto modo pusieron un freno a todo.

Ahora, aquí estamos un año después y los efectos de ambos continúan dominando mi vida y la de Joan. La única luz brillante que veo es un nuevo presidente en los Estados Unidos. Al menos la "criatura" ya no representará al país, pero aún podrá causar estragos en él. Mi esperanza es que la Constitución sea enmendada para que nadie como él NUNCA pueda volver a ocupar ese cargo.
