Insurrection Rant?

This is what Trump has caused...................fences around the House of the People, the White House, and now the Capital building. He said he would build a wall, nobody imagined it would be in these two places. Yet, here we are today, the Capital fenced to keep his fanatical supporters away and hundreds of National Guard stationed inside of it to protect it. Still, thousands of Americans support him no matter what happened last week with the insurrection. Even 196 Republicans pledge their fielty to him yet. 6 people died, the country is on the brink of disaster and they are still more concerned with retaining their positions in government than they are about the welfare of American Democracy. Twice he has been impeached, the ONLY President to ever have been. Now, it is up to the Senate to convict him. The Republicans control the Senate, 52-48. The Democrats have to find 27 Republicans on their side of what is right, and necessary, to convict him of the charge of insurrection.  In total, they need 75 YES votes. It is the only way he can never hold a political office again. With Mitch McConnell saying he is in favor of impeachment, can he persuade 26 other Republicans to join him, or are they just too scared of Trump? We won't know until the Senate reconvenes next week.

Once out of office, the New York prosecutors are waiting to file charges. Trump faces two New York state inquiries into whether he misled tax authorities, banks, or business partners. Two women alleging he sexually assaulted them are suing him. Some Democrats are calling for the revival of a federal campaign finance investigation that appeared to end under U.S. Attorney General William Barr.

Now, after 4 years. he has finally made a speech asking his supporters not to cause problems during the week of the inauguration. Finally. He spent the last several month's opening Pandora's box. NOW he is trying to shut the lid. We will see if it is too late. There are more National Guard protecting Washington D.C than there are troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and HE is the reason for it along with his co-conspirators. The Senate must convict him of insurrection and ban him for life of ever holding a political office again.
