MRI or NO MRI?

The second trip for MRI also turned out to be a disaster. Again, Joan's test of her brain was not done today. The doctor did not write if it was to be an MRI or a CT scan. The technician said he had to know what to use. He said the MRI was dangerous for Joan because of the two clips she has in her brain and it might cause them to move and activate bleeding. He called the doctor but he wasn't sure either. At home, I looked through Joan's health records and see numerous mentions of CT scans. We have a new appointment for next Thursday and I will take her records with us. I should be getting reimbursed for the time wasted and gas spent to get there and back for nothing. Oh well, life in Poland.

We watched the Inauguration this morning via YouTube. I thought Biden's speech was very good and only hope some of the Trumpers were listening to it. I also hope he fulfills every promise he made.  Most of all, I hope the Democratic party realizes they must include the progressive element in the discussions they will have over issues. If it becomes JUST a "centrist" party, they will lose elections in 2022 to Republicans.  Today's news that his economic advisory panel does not have any progressives in it. That has to change. It's not a good sign.

The poem by the young poet Amanda Gorman, the Youth Poet Laureate of 2017, recited a powerful poem for the Inauguration. I liked it very much.

Drugi wyjazd na rezonans magnetyczny również okazał się katastrofą. Znów nie udało się dziś zrobić Joannie badania mózgu. Lekarz nie napisał, czy ma to być rezonans, czy tomografia. Technik powiedział, że musi wiedzieć, czego użyć. Powiedział, że rezonans jest niebezpieczny dla Joanny ze względu na dwa klipsy, które ma w mózgu i może spowodować ich przemieszczenie i aktywację krwawienia. Zadzwonił do lekarza, ale on też nie był pewien. W domu przejrzałem dokumentację zdrowotną Joanny i zobaczyłem liczne wzmianki o tomografii komputerowej. Mamy nowy termin na przyszły czwartek i wezmę jej zapisy z nami. Powinienem dostać zwrot pieniędzy za stracony czas i benzynę wydaną na dojazd tam i z powrotem za nic. No cóż, życie w Polsce.

Obejrzeliśmy Inaugurację dziś rano przez YouTube. Uważam, że przemówienie Bidena było bardzo dobre i mam tylko nadzieję, że niektórzy z Trumperów go słuchali. Mam też nadzieję, że spełni każdą obietnicę, którą złożył.  Przede wszystkim mam nadzieję, że Partia Demokratyczna zdaje sobie sprawę, że musi włączyć element progresywny do dyskusji, które będą prowadzić na temat problemów. Jeśli stanie się wyłącznie partią "centrową", w 2022 roku przegra wybory z Republikanami.  Dzisiejsza wiadomość, że w jego ekonomicznym panelu doradczym nie ma żadnych postępowców. To musi się zmienić. To nie jest dobry znak.

Wiersz młodej poetki Amandy Gorman, Youth Poet Laureate of 2017, wyrecytował potężny wiersz na Inaugurację. Bardzo mi się podobał.

El segundo viaje para la resonancia magnética también resultó ser un desastre. Una vez más, la prueba del cerebro de Joan no se hizo hoy. El médico no escribió si debía ser una resonancia magnética o una tomografía. El técnico dijo que tenía que saber qué usar. Dijo que la resonancia magnética era peligrosa para Joan debido a los dos clips que tiene en el cerebro y que podría hacer que se movieran y activar una hemorragia. Llamó al médico pero él tampoco estaba seguro. En casa, miré los registros de salud de Joan y vi numerosas menciones a tomografías. Tenemos una nueva cita para el próximo jueves y llevaré sus registros con nosotros. Me deberían reembolsar el tiempo perdido y la gasolina gastada para ir y volver para nada. Bueno, la vida en Polonia.

Esta mañana hemos visto la toma de posesión a través de YouTube. Creo que el discurso de Biden fue muy bueno y sólo espero que algunos de los Trumpers lo hayan escuchado. También espero que cumpla todas las promesas que hizo.  Sobre todo, espero que el partido demócrata se dé cuenta de que debe incluir el elemento progresista en las discusiones que tendrán sobre los temas. Si se convierte en un partido SOLO "centrista", perderán las elecciones de 2022 frente a los republicanos.  La noticia de hoy es que su panel de asesoramiento económico no tiene ningún progresista en él. Eso tiene que cambiar. No es una buena señal.
