I love my hat.

The hat in the picture was made by me out of rabbit and beaver fur when I lived in the U.P.. The inside liner is an old Army, wool liner worn by tank drivers in winter. Today was a good day to wear it because it was -4C when I went to take the garbage outside to the bin. Even on the coldest days in the U.P.(-20-40F), my head was always warm. It is rare when I wear it here.

With the cold temperature outside and old, wooden window frames in our flat that don't seal well, it's chilly enough inside for Joan to wear long underwear. I have the thermostat set at 23C but now it's at 20C and not getting any higher. We should be in Spain now where it is 20C with the sun.

I was finally able to get money out of the funding for Joan to our PKO bank account. It took a while to figure out the correct process for doing that. It came just in time to pay for Joan's continuing therapy.

Only two more days until the U.S. has a new President. Hallelujah!!

Chapka na zdjęciu został zrobiony przeze mnie z futra królika i bobra, kiedy mieszkałem w U.P. Wewnętrzna wyściółka to stara wojskowa, wełniana wyściółka noszona zimą przez czołgistów. Dziś był to dobry dzień na noszenie go, bo to było -4C, kiedy poszedłem zabrać śmieci na zewnątrz do kosza. Nawet w najzimniejsze dni w U.P.(-20-40F), moja głowa była zawsze ciepła. Rzadko zdarza się, że noszę ją tutaj.

Z zimną temperaturą na zewnątrz i starymi, drewnianymi ramami okiennymi w naszym mieszkaniu, które nie zamykają się dobrze, wewnątrz jest wystarczająco zimno, aby Joanna mogła nosić długą bieliznę. Mam termostat ustawiony na 23C, ale teraz jest w 20C i nie podnosi się wyżej. Powinniśmy być teraz w Hiszpanii, gdzie jest 20C ze słońcem.

W końcu udało mi się wyciągnąć pieniądze z funduszy dla Joanny na nasze konto w PKO. Trochę czasu zajęło mi ustalenie właściwego procesu, żeby to zrobić. Przyszło w samą porę, żeby zapłacić za dalszą terapię Joanny.

El sombrero de la foto lo hice con piel de conejo y castor cuando vivía en la U.P. El forro interior es un viejo forro de lana del ejército, usado por los conductores de tanques en invierno. Hoy fue un buen día para usarlo porque estaba a -4C cuando fui a sacar la basura al cubo de basura. Incluso en los días más fríos de la U.P. (-20-40F), mi cabeza siempre estaba caliente. Es raro cuando lo uso aquí.

Con la fría temperatura exterior y los viejos marcos de madera de las ventanas de nuestro piso que no sellan bien, hace suficiente frío en el interior para que Joan use ropa interior larga. Tengo el termostato puesto a 23ºC pero ahora está a 20ºC y no sube más. Deberíamos estar en España ahora donde hay 20C con el sol.

Finalmente pude sacar dinero de los fondos para Joan a nuestra cuenta bancaria de la PKO. Me llevó un tiempo averiguar el proceso correcto para hacerlo. Llegó justo a tiempo para pagar la continuación de la terapia de Joan.

Sólo dos días más hasta que los EE.UU. tenga un nuevo presidente. ¡Aleluya!
