Vaccinations

Trying to get registered for vaccinations is a three-prong problem. First I called the helpline but no one answered, NOT unusual. Second, Pfizer has filled only half of what was ordered initially. Third, It could be the end of March before we finally get vaccinated. Over 150,000 people had managed to register in the first three hours after the process began. Poland has almost 2.4 million people aged between 70 and 79.

As registration for coronavirus vaccines for those aged over 70 began today in Poland, many elderly people were left queueing outside for hours. Others reported difficulties getting through on overburdened helplines, only to eventually find out that there were no free vaccination slots available.

As a last resort, I called our friend, Marcin, and he said he would try and register us on Monday. I really hope he can. Now, besides Joan, I have a plumbing problem, electrical problem and TV problem in our flat. I'll have to deal with those on Monday.

Gdy dziś w Polsce rozpoczęła się rejestracja na szczepionki przeciwko koronawirusowi dla osób powyżej 70 roku życia, wiele starszych osób stało w wielogodzinnych kolejkach. Inni zgłaszali trudności z dodzwonieniem się na przeciążone infolinie, by w końcu dowiedzieć się, że nie ma wolnych terminów szczepień.
