2 Palaces.

Let's take a short drive today south of Dresden to visit two palaces. The first, Schloss Pilnitz is only 18 km away and was once the summer residence of King August the Strong of Saxony. It is a restored Baroque castle at the eastern end of the city of Dresden in the Germany state of Saxony. It is located on the bank of the River Elbe in the former village of Pilnitz. The Pilnitz Castle complex consists of three main buildings, the Riverside Palace on the riverfront; the Upper Palace, on the hillside and the later Neoclassical New Palace, which links them together on the east side. The buildings enclose a Baroque garden and are surrounded by a large public park. We spent about three hours there today seeing as much as we were allowed to see. It was a good day to be outside in the gardens but also interesting to view this palace.  Many interesting rooms to look at although not all of it is open yet but I always especially like seeing the handmade furniture and  marquetry work of old world craftsman. The palace was first acquired by the Wettin dynasty in 1694 and  eventually by King August the Strong in 1706. It was the summer residence by the house of Wettin until 1918.

A short ten minute drive through the forest takes us to our second palace, Schloss Weesentein. The first written mention of the castle dates back to the December 17th, 1318 in connection with the help and service pledge of the castle Count Otto von Dohna against the Meissen Margrave Frederick the Free Hand. In 1406 it became the property of the Bunau and remained until 1772. It's really like a fortress because of it's location and one of the few palaces we have been able to see every floor all the way up to the top. The higher floors have little in them but they are still interesting to see. It's a long climb to the top but worth it, I think. I posted a lot of pictures of both palaces.

Weźmy krótkiej przejażdżki dzisiaj południe od Drezna , aby odwiedzić dwa pałace . Pierwszy , Schloss Pilnitz jest tylko 18 km, a był kiedyś letnią rezydencją króla Augusta Mocnego z Saksonii . Jest to odrestaurowany zamek barokowy na wschodnim krańcu miasta Drezna w stanie Niemcy Saksonia . Znajduje się na brzegu rzeki Łaby w dawnej wsi Pilnitz . Kompleks Pilnitz Zamek składa się z trzech głównych budynków, Riverside Pałacu na brzegu rzeki ; Górny Pałac, na wzgórzu , a później Neoklasycystyczny Nowy Pałac, który łączy je razem, po wschodniej stronie . Budynki otaczają ogród barokowy i otoczony jest dużym parkiem publicznym . Spędziliśmy tam około trzech godzin dzisiaj widząc jak mogliśmy zobaczyć . To był dobry dzień, aby być na zewnątrz w ogrodzie , ale również interesujące zobaczyć ten pałac . Wiele ciekawych pokoje patrzeć choć nie wszystko jest jeszcze otwarte , ale jak zawsze , zwłaszcza widząc , ręcznie robione meble i pracy Intarsja starego świata rzemieślnika . Pałac został pierwszy cquired przez dynastii Wettinów w 1694 i ostatecznie przez króla Augusta Mocnego w 1706 roku. Byłletnią rezydencją przy domu Wettynów do 1918 roku .

Krótkie dziesięć minut jazdy przez las prowadzi nas do naszego drugiego pałacu Schloss Weesentein . Pierwsza pisemna wzmianka o zamku pochodzi z 17 grudnia 1318 , w związku z pomocą i zastawu usług zamku hrabiego Otto von Dohna przeciwko margrabiego Miśni Fryderykarękę wolną . W 1406 stał się własnością Bunau i pozostał aż do 1772 roku. To naprawdę jak forteca ze względu na jego położenie i jeden z niewielu pałaców , w których byliśmy w stanie zobaczyć każdym piętrze całą drogę do góry . Wyższe piętra mają trochę w nich, ale nadal są interesujące zobaczyć . To długa wspinaczka na górę , ale warto , jak sądzę. Napisałem dużo zdjęć obu pałaców ,
